Actress Sydney Sweeney Donates $12,000 for Meals to Needy Through Local Restaurants
Twelve days, 12 shelters, 12 restaurants. Actress and Spokane native Sydney Sweeney is donating $12,000 to make the holiday season brighter for Spokane’s houseless population and local restaurants struggling financially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sweeney, in partnership with the City of Spokane, Spokane County, US Foods, Visit Spokane and Washington Hospitality Association, is teaming up to provide meals to homeless residents during the holidays.
Twelve Spokane area restaurants will use the funds to create meals delivered to a different shelter in the 12 days leading up to Christmas. US Foods will deliver around 400 meals total. The first round of meals goes out on December 14.
